    My 20 year old Model 10....can I shoot +P?

I bought it used.....beautiful condition, little wear on the barrel from holstering. I've only shot .38 through it. I don't really want to shoot +P's, I was just curious if the gun was strong enough to take the extra pressure. Oh, by the way, I don't want to be the one to find out. Just wondering what any smithy's out there think?

Maybe you'll help avert an accident ....

The occasional use of +P ammo in a 20 year old Model 10 won't be detrimental to the health and well being of said revolver.

Carried a M10 30+years ago. The handloads I carried and shot regularly which were just considered "max" back then would now be considered "beyond +p"! Gun still in service.

Your K frame Smith should be just fine with .38+Ps. The only K frame that I know of that had problems was the model 19/66. That was from a steady diet of full house .357 magnums. This gun was the brainchild of the late Bill Jordan,( a border patrol agent and gun writer), that was designed to shoot .38 specials for practice and magnums for duty or occasional use by civilians. These problems led to the development of the L frame .357 that could withstand a steady diet of magnums.

Hell yes! Issued model 64 1980 to 1992(stainless version) load was +p 125gr Remington, then +P+ 147gr Federal.
