    Expansion is great but in my tests it penetrates less than other LE standard rounds.
    Static tests show the HST penetrates barriers (wallboard, clothing, glass) better than the others, and does not plug up. As far as body penetration, I would prefer that it stopped in the BG rather than a blow through (3rd rule of shooting - know what is behind your target - hard to do in the heat of the moment, in a store, in the middle of a city...That is why I switched to HST from Hydrashoks.

    The Federal HST are law enforcement tactical rounds.

    I did quite a bit of reading and searching before I selected the HST. I would also be interested in any factual proof that the HST failed to penetrate, as this is totally opposite of what I have found in my research.

    I use 230gr HSTs in my 1911s! Great round and no feeding problems!
