Cheep at Dicks. It was like $50 for 150 rounds or therabouts. How does it shoot? Does it shoot? Most importantly perhaps:
I'm guessing it should be actual brass and OK to reload, since it is reloaded ammo after all. Correct?

It is reloaded so count it as such.
I've shot it and haven't had issue with it. I've shot a lot of their 38 Special ammo and found it to be pretty accurate.
I bought a case several years ago, and still have some of it. It isn't bad, a little dirty, but not bad at all.

No experience with the Ultramax .223, but I can tell you that their remanufactured .38 Special 158 grain SWC is pure, unadulterated garbage!
It goes bang, but where the bullet strikes is anybody's guess.

I was looking into getting some .40cal but after I asked about I think I will skip it. Here is a link to the thread I asked on another forum.

ditto on the 38 spl. Extremely dirty, though accurate enough at short range. Revolver jammed up from crud after just a few rounds. Brass was dirty enough after firing that I pitched it instead of reloading.

I've had no personal experience with it.
Here's a link to a thread the Smith & Wesson forum in which Ultramax was featured. Results were not encouraging to say the least.

No personal experience, but it doesn't have a good rep on AR15.com in the ammo section.
Case failures seem to be common.

Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.
Maybe I'll just collect something else....

I had bought some bulk from Cabela's a few years back.
I have heard people diss it, but my batch was good stuff.
I believe it is reloads, but my batch functioned properly, was accurate and didn't have any squibs or split cases. Not really any dirtier than many other brands.

The stuff I have is less than perfect. I've had a couple of failure to feed issues because the bullet wasn't properly seated in the case. It's also very dirty and leaves a lot of unburnt powder in your gun. If it's cheap enough and I'm hand feeding I'll still buy it, but will clean up after every box.
