    .45 Golden Saber Expansion

    Does anyone have any good data on 230gr Golden Saber expansion out of a 3.5" barrel? Most everything I can find is fired from a 5".

    I honestly don't believe that there is gonna be that much difference between the 2 barrels. At common defensive ranges of probably 3-5 yards there can't be that much power difference

    But to answer your question I don't know of any sites or links.

    6 shot avg out of 3.5" 1911 = 811fps, ES=64, SD=28 Temp 85F. Have not wetpack tested it but plan to soon.

    If you go here they have some results from some 3 inch 1911's with remington gs.

    These bullets are out of a 4" bbl, Taurus 24/7 Pro. They are the 185gr +P Golden Saber bullets.

    for handguns the differences are minimal, the only time barrel length comes into play is with rifles and the difference would have to be fairly large 4" or more. Out of a 4" barrel the ones I test fired opened between 3/4 and 7/8 of an inch which is good enough for me.
