You can pick up HST at Ammunition To Go
I've posted this before for those that have not seen them there are some great pics and info about HST
This first set are tests done at LEO facilities around the country and provide a great deal of comparative information of several different brands of ammo including Rangers and HST. They are downloadable PDF files so you will need Adobe Acrobat to read them if you do not have Adobe Acrobat . You can download it

This thread is the glaring difference between the two.
On hiatus.
Hit my limit for speculation, the sky is falling, and gun owners fighting amongst themselves.

I have had some bad experiences with Streichers their 511 belts really suck leather belt myGetting a refund or exchange is a nightmare, customer service was limited to rationalization, justification, procrastination excuse making and being bounced from one number to the next. Ammunition To Go on the other hand always has HST in stock for a decent price, great customer service with delivery normally within a day or two.

I just received 2 boxes of 230 grn HST from Ammunition to Go for my Kimber Raptor. I also bought 2 boxes of 180 grn HST for my G23. Seems like good stuff.
I recently replaced the 230gr HydraShoks that I've carried for 10+ years with HST. I'm about to place another order, and was considering trying the +P loads (230gr .45ACP). The OP doesn't mention if these tests were with +P or not, but for those of you who have tried them, what is your opinion? I imagine out of my steel Combat Commander they won't be unpleasant to shoot or too hard on the gun. But with my lightweight Kimber Pro CDP, I'm not so sure. Thoughts?
Also, on the same note, I have a new G26 with pinkie extensions for either BUG or wife carry (if/when she starts carrying). I currently load it with 147gr standard HST. How much snappier (i.e. uncomfortable) are the 147gr +P HST loads out of a G26? I don't intend to shoot a LOT of carry ammo at the range, but do like to practice with it a fair amount -- at least one magazine per gun per range trip. Keeps it fresh, too, even though I realize shelf life is measured in years.

I carry +P HST in my full size 1911. The recoil is marginally more than a standard load. Well worth the improvement in ballistics.

Noticeably more recoil with the +P. If the regular 230gr won't do it, it's not going to get done.
Also wondering if OP tested +P or not. If they indeed were normal loads, and not +P, and went through 2 wet phone books...why go +P
