Nothing to base this on really but I think we could actually see lower ammo prices by the second half of 2009. With a global economic crisis in progress, demand for metails, oil, etc is declining. If Obama pulls us out of Iraq or even curtails our involvement it'll free up some ammo capacity. The craze for buying now might be a little bit of a knee jerk reaction so it should subside, and manufactuerers might increase capacity a bit to take advantage of the short term margins. Put it all together and you might see a soft spot in late 2009 ammo prices. Having said that, i'm also stocking up a little bit

I totally agree. The price of ammo may very well lessen for the reasons you mention.
What I'm concerned about, however, is the tax on ammo that can go up.

We already know that the political party that now has control of both houses and now the presidency want to do away with all guns. Period.

But there's that little "problem" called the 2nd Amendment that keeps getting in their way.
However, the price you pay for ammo reflecting a 500% tax is what's going to bite us if they get their way.

Yah i just got 3k rds of 9mm. But i also agree with the possibility of ammo prices dropping. I got lucky where i live there is a dicks sporting goods that has 9mm for 7.98 a box compared to 12.99 a box. Wheww i jumped on that quick.
