    I just came into possession of 500 rds of Remington 155 gr High Velocity( it says so on the box) .40 S&W JHP ammo,

    I believe that is what Border Patrols carries (or carried). Supposedly very hot. I have some myself.

    AntiHerd is right. The BP and CBP (those that used to be INS Inspectors/Agents) used to carry this load for about 12 years. Hard on guns (and illegal aliens). They went to a 135gr load a few months ago. I don't know why.

    The lighter bullets in .40cal reach M/V similar to 357Sig, can't see it being any harder on guns than 357Sig unless it is considered +P?

    The BP in our area show up at the range with Winchester Ranger .40 S&W ammo. The boxes are very distinctive which makes IDing them easy

    I will have to pay more attention to the bullet weight when I'm working as the range master.

    In South Texas BP agents get a case a month to practice with,that's right they don't use cheaper FMJ they use 155 grn JHP remington.I know I got about 200 rounds for my Sig 2022.

    In South Texas BP agents get a case a month to practice with,that's right they don't use cheaper FMJ they use 155 grn JHP remington.I know I got about 200 rounds for my Sig 2022.

    IMHO
    all LEO's should pratice that much
