Academy sells it for 8 bux a box of 9mm. As expensive as ammo is these days, it sounds good. But, I wanted some real world feedback. I just bought a P380, and wanted to run a couple of boxes of jhp thru it, but dont want to hose it up with crap ammo.

I bought a few boxes of Monarch .380 a year or so ago. In the 300 rounds I fired, I had 4 of that didn't cycle right. That was the only brand of ammo that I ever had problems with in my 380.
I wouldn't discourage you from using them at the range if you're looking for something cheap....you don't need 100% reliability on the range...if your scared of Monarch, just get the Winchester White Box....I've never had any sort of issue with WWB
Hey if your using it for range ammo and you get some ftf or fte on occassion that just gives you an opportunity to practice your clearing exercises.
As long as it doesn't happen in life and death situation nothing wrong with practice at the range.
I've used monarch for years. Good practice ammo. Not steel cased, so don't worry about hurting your firearm. NOT for self defense applications.
