Bad News to Dicks 9mm buyers

At the store near me they have been out of 9mm amor for awhile. During the 7.98 box sale many people went in and ordered tons of ammo me included. I ordered 2k rds in hopes of having before Janurany. Well i just got a phone call from a friend that works there telling me that Dicks just bought alot of Federal ball ammo and will be selling it to the people who had rainchecks. The bad news is that they only i case per person. So essentialy i lost 3 more cases for the price. Dangit!
Tell us if you got the same dredfull call and what you have been told.
    Thanks

I'm still working through a case from there that I got a month or so ago. I haven't been back to see how the availability is here yet, but I usually do buy from Dick's. Best price I've found per box for the 9mm remington fmj's.

Do the stores in Ohio walk you to the front of the store with your ammo purchase ? They do in Maine,I asked and the salesman said you could have
a gun on you.You should of seen the look on his face when I faked like Iwas
going for one.I told him I didn't like his company's policy because it brought attention on me.

Actually i used to work there for a year and i never had to walk anyone up front unless they were buying a gun. Not saying it not store policy but i didnt do it. But they were leary about letting them buy ammo with the gun.

A CCW holder buys a gun and the company is leery of selling him ammo at the same time!! He is probably armed during the whole transaction. I would be.

Look on the bright side. You didn't lose anything. You can't lose that which you don't have. So, you simply failed to attain more of a good thing is all.

S&B is always affordable through Centerfire Systems. Shane (owner) and the crew there will be certain you get what you want, and if it is backordered, they'll track it down for you and make sure you don't pay a dollar more than you should.

I don't worry 'bout nuthin when it comes to ammo. Centerfire usually has it all.

Me and my twisted way of thinking again.........raincheck, and you actually filled out a paperwork order for 2k? When I went in to pick up what they are saying they will 'allow' me to purchase....I'd be throwing out some comments like 'false advertising', 'fine print' and the like. I don't know how some states are on rain checks, and you'd need check the fine print as well, but if you and the store entered into a contract, then they should fulfill it legally...even if it takes them six months to fully fill your order at the promised price. Some businesses won't issue rain checks for this very reason. Maybe I'm wrong.

I had the store near me tell the same story. Only 10 boxes at the sale price although the raincheck listed more.

No i completly agree with you RamRod. I think they should supply the rest at the cost but the problem is that i dont want to cause a scene and then everyone looks at me. I already had step backs and odd eyes carrying it up and one guy said" D***, stocking up!" Plus I think I am on Dicks list.lol Me and my buddy have gone in there and bought 10k to 15k rds at a time.

I have pretty much had it with Dick's. They put their Black Friday circular out last week on Thanksgiving. They advertised ammo at a rate of Buy one, get another for 50% OFF. Limit 6 boxes per customer. Sale was to be an early bird special, lasting from 5AM to 2PM. Last time they had a good ammo sale they sold out in two hours. So, like an idiot, I got up before dawn to fight the crowd at the opening, which was not realy a bad crowd BTW.

I wanted to stock up on 12ga shells for sporting clays and quail hunting. I went back to where the stuff was and to my amazement the price for a 100 rnd case was $29.99. That means that if you buy 2, the price would be $44.98 or thereabouts. The regular price at wal-Mart is $22 and change. So basically, they marked the price up so that when you buy two (50% 0ff on the 2nd case) you still pay the same as if you buy them at the regular price at Wal-Mart.

They also advertised no rainchecks, and had a sale on Marlin 336 30-30 carbine with a scope for $298. It's hard to find one used for that price, so I figured maybe I'll pick up an extra for my collection. WRONG! They didn't actualy have any in the store. The guy ssid they were backordered. :-( No rainchecks.

I told the guy, "You people got me this time, but you won't get me again." Then I walked out and went to Wal-Mart and bought a couple of cases of shotgun shells.

I'm not the only one who was angry. One guy had 6 boxes of .410 shellls and when he got to the counter and found out that the price was marked at $16 per box, he told them they were nuts, they should be around $8 per box. Then he just walked out the door and left the shells on the cashier's counter.

P.S. They were out of most ammo, and the guy said it is on backorder until at least Feb.
When you've got 'em by the balls, their hearts & minds will follow. Semper Fi.

You know...here's what I'm going to say about this. Personally, I don't care to cause a "scene". People looking at me in awe or surprise doesn't affect me in any way. Sometimes I actually hope my conversations with the staff at some places results in turning customers away. Once those folks drop what they have and walk out the door, things will change , believe you me. The best time to make a scene IS in front of other potential buyers or customers. That hits the retailer below the belt, where it should, and at the bottom line----SALES! Customer satisfaction makes the world turn round for franchises. Word of mouth can be their best friend, or their worst enemy. Make them stand behind what they advertise, what they say in the media. Save the circular, or the Sunday ad from the newspaper....hold them accountable! Never be embarrassed or belittled by the public or the big corporation.
the problem is that i dont want to cause a scene and then everyone looks at me
Riddle me this then...and please don't take this in the wrong way...I want to elicit some thinking here.
Don't want to cause a scene....what's going to happen when you defend yourself or your family against an attack at the mall? Will you be worried about causing a scene then? This is going to make you second guess yourself. Be affirmative with your ideals, your thinking. Assert yourself in your position. These are merely suggestions. My opinions. I'd never suggest that anyone abandon their morals. Just harden and fortify themselves for the times ahead. Nobody has ever asked me what my signature means.....I'm sure some have Googled it. No-regrets or without remorse. It's a standard I try to live by.
