    Hollow Point BS?

I recently read on a another forum that you should break in all AK type weapons with FMJ rounds only, and hollow points will cause jams when used in the break in period.

Is this complete bull or does the person know what they are talking about?

I've shot a lot of HP though my AK without a hitch.

I have never heard of that advice for an AK.

There are some semi auto handguns that reccomend that in the instructions. That may be what he is thinking of.

The AK is one of the most reliable weapons platforms devised by man. As long as the AK has no mechanical defects and/or was put together by a chimp with a non-milspec jagged rock, no hollowpoint will cause one to choke.

BTW, I've fired HP ammo out of one of AK's as well.....no problems at all.

Sounds like BS to me, and that makes me what?....number five? You'll have to question "the person" further about this, and I wouldn't be so sure it was a true AK vs some knockoff ordeal. They may also have done some 'kitchen table' gunsmithing or technically built their own. That's my opinion, and I'm stickin' to it.

I use HP in my Bushmaster AR-15 and have never had any problems. The only thing that my owners manual indicated was not to use Wolf ammunition.

I'll call BS on that. I have an AK and I can honestly say, it has cycled anything and everything I have ever fed it. From FMJ to HP to anything in between.

All that I have ever fired through my WASR is Wolf MC HP's. I've never fired a FMJ through it and I've never had a failure.
