    Lightbulb .357 SIG practice ammo - 20 / round - (Speer)

My shiny new Glock 32 in OD Green comes in Monday and I have been looking for the best deal on range ammo. Stumbled across this deal at Georgia Arms:

Georgia Arms - Special Buys (.357 SIG)

This is an awesome deal on Speer ammo. Just ordered 2k rounds and though I'd pass it along.

Let me know if anyone stumbles across a better deal.

BTW, I am not an employee, compensated, or endorsing Georgia Arms, just passing along a good deal.

    I don't have a 357sig anymore but if I did I'd be loading up, that's a really great price.

That delay is for the ammo they load, this is pre-packed from Speer. I expect it to be in in less than 10 days. Will keep you guys posted.

Looks like a great deal on 357sig ammo, how low does it shoot?

You realize that is frangible ammo, not FMJ?

Why would it shoot low? It's slightly reduced bullet weight 100gr rather than 125gr, not reduced powder.

Yep, I doubt the steel plates at the range will care though?

For practice/training ammo ya can't beat the price. Chances are it will shoot low, but if ya zero before shooting or just adjust o the new impact point ya should be G2G

I prefer to practice with ammo that responds as close to my carry ammo as possible. 100gr frangible shoots nothing like my Gold Dots. I've got tons of experience in the shoot house with them. Recoil and back on target times are much different.

I totally agree with them being different than my carry round (Federal HST in my case). But practicing with with a round that has slightly less recoil is WAY better than not practicing (or not practicing frequently) because of expense. My local wally world charges $24 after tax for a box of 50 WWB. That is better than double the price (.48 / round) that I got on these. That said, I do shoot enough of my carry ammo to be confident that I can make proper follow up shots.

HOWEVER, in .357 SIG, I have seen no where near as much difference between rounds as I do in 9mm rounds. The difference in surplus ball ammo and HST +P or +P+ is VERY noticeable. To the point that +P+ fells a lot like .357 SIG.

I can not find ballistics for these rounds, so I have no idea what to expect. My hope is that with them being 100gr rounds, that they will leave the barrel at >1200 FPS.

I will post more here after my first range trip with them.

The same company has FMJ ammo for $280/1000 in bulk. Not bad unless it's nasty reloads.
