I'd like to pick up a shotgun soon, but I'm really in need of more rifle ammo so it'll probably have to wait. That and the price of 00 Buck just about floored me.

I am with Old Gunner. I rember talking to an old rancher in my younger days and asking him how many head of cattle he had. He told me that it was none of my business; but that he had enough.

BATF went in all the gun stores in this area this week, Walmart included and asked:
Do you know anyone buying large quanity of ammo?
Do you know anyone buying large amount of Powder. Primers Etc?

They didn't specifty what a large amount was.

From what I gathered no one had that information or kept track of that sort of thing.

Our local Wal mart has several people working the gun/ammo counter and they only asked the one clerk working at the time they were in the store

Just a note. It's important to store up a reasonable amount for those times of social unrest. This can mean a few boxes to a few cases for each gun. If it's something like the L.A. riots, a few boxes is more than adequate. If it's TEOTWAWKI event, I doubt you can afford enough.

This was when I went to wal mart a few months back. I went through 500 rounds of 9mm since then and 400 rounds of .40 since then. I just replaced it last night so I'm back up to
    1500 9mm,
    1500 .40.

You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.
