I thought it interesting that this particular test found the Hornady XTP standard pressure round to be a great performer. Ever notice that most of the .38 Spec. ammo you see available is +P? It's been suggested that +P ammo and 2" barrels don't exactly complement each other, and this test seems to validate that. At least in a snubnose, +P may not be worth the trouble. I suppose this serves as a reminder to seek out the ammo your particular gun shoots well.

That’s a good read; any idea when it was published? I didn’t see any mention of Gold Dot 135gr GDSB. I know it is many people’s (and my) preferred carry round.

Not sure how old it is, but the 158gr and 125gr +P Nyclad have been out of production for years. The 125 non +p just got re-introduced. Maybe as much as 10 years out of production?
I don't think the article is too old. If you'll notice to the right of the article is a photo of a Ruger SR9 on a magzine cover. I too like the 135gr +P Gold Dot.
