Federal Expanding Full Metal Jacket Ammo

I asked this question a year or so ago and no one at that time had actually used this ammo.

So I am asking again. Does anyone carry this ammo? Has anyone actually fired any of this ammo?

I am very interested in it but so far I am still unable to find anyone who stocks it in my area. I want to try it out. I may resort to ordering it on line. But I am still interested in hearing from anyone who has actual experience with it.

I use it and I buy it online. Functions great in all my guns. The reason I use it is two-fold. First, I have a couple of finicky guns that dont feed JHP reliably. Two, JHPs have been outlawed in some areas and I have a permit to carry in those areas. So I dont want to have to change ammo all the time. Plus, JHPs can and have gotten a bad rap in the courts. I know JHPs can be argued that they are safer than FMJ but why waste the money and time doing that when I can avoid it by carrying something else.

Been using it for three years in one of my .45's. Good stuff. More accurate in that pistol then hollow points and functions perfectly. I wouldn't be volunteering to run down range and play catch with the bullets......

I have fired the 9mm in both 105 gr. Premium Personal Defense version and the 124 gr. +P Tactical version. I carry the 124 gr. in my Kahr CW 9 and in my EAA Witness. It reliably expands and works in pistols that have trouble with hollow points like the Witness. I also intend to carry them in my CZ 75BD when I get my holster in.

I would...if it was available in 124gr STANDARD pressure loads.

    I carry a Hi-Power a prefer not to use +P loads.

    EFMJ

I have used it and tested it in wet newspaper, heavy clothes, plywood and such. It expands perfect every time and you can barely tell the bullets apart no matter what they hit. I keep a bunch of the 124+p loaded for my Uzi. I use it for that particular gun so I know it will feed. If you don't have a specific need, like a gun unreliable with JHP or some local law, I wouldn't really bother though. I still prefer JHP for SD use.

I have it currently in .45 ACP 200gr and 9mm 124gr+P, and have fired the .45 ACP 165gr and 9mm 105gr loads before I found out about the heavier "LE" versions. No feeding problems in a couple different guns, very accurate and quite shootable. I haven't done any penetration/expansion testing myself but everything I have read agrees with the comments above.

I bought mine from Ammoman and Ammunition To Go, and Streichers has it, too.
