    I love the pics of the Coonan. When I was a bunch younger it was my pleasure to shoot the very first prototype of that pistol. I also furnished the ammo for the first range tests.

    Now, for the 9mm vs 357 mag debate.

    The 9mm is a bunch closer to a 38sp than it is to a 357mag with any given bullet weight and the 38sp is a lot more versatile round.(try loading the heavyier lead bullets in a 9mm and watch the pressures go out of sight, yet it can,and is, done with the 38sp. As can be seen, I am not a huge fan of the 9mm. It does have its place, but it sure as heck isnt out there running with the big dogs.

    I'm actually a pretty big fan of the 9mm, but I can't in any way disagree with your assessment, as was borne out in our ballistics tests.

    And oh, I usually prefer to carry either a .357 Sig or a .45. A 9 or my 642 certainly have their place when dress demands it, but given my druthers . . .
