    Cabela's bulk .38 ammo

    Has anyone tried the bulk .38 rounds that Cabela's sells? They come in both wadcutter and hollow-point. OK for practice? Decent round for defensive carry? Any input would be appreciated.

    Unfortunately I wish I could answer that. I am still waiting on my 600 round Bulk Ammo (backordered) .38SPCL 158 SWC I placed on 11/19/2008.

    Reviews on their site were decent- looks like it might be worth a try, though the cost savings, even at the 1200 round pack, were not that impressive.

    The primary reason I order through Cabelas is the fact that I don't have to pay for shipping. Select their in-store pick up option and it's free. Of course we have a Cabelas here which makes it convenient.
