Depends what kind of gun you have. Some, like the AK, were designed from the start to shoot steel cased ammo.

Pretty much depeds on the weapon. My S&W 9mm M&P will eat up pretty much anything you can feed it. My Bersa 380 is a bit more particular and I avoid anything other then brass. I try various types of ammo and generally know what is good and what to avoid. Its best not to have a surprise in a crucial situation.
Check with your range first also. My range does not permit steel cased ammo, only brass.
Nothing wrong with steel cased ammo, as long as your firearm likes it. Just remember that it's not reloadable, even if boxer primed.:hand5:
And EW3, I've never heard of a range prohibiting steel cased ammo. Steel core yes as it can represent a fire hazard if downrange is dry enough.:scruntiny:
well my range isnt a concern since i shoot on private property and i dont reload so i think i'm gonna give it a try.
Steel cases are a little harder on the action. Brass is softer and easier on actions. I reload for all my firearms, and other have told me the same. I think it would take a lot of shooting for it to wear on the gun.
The steel they use is so soft you can cut is as easily as brass with a knife... so if your gun will cycle it then I would not be afraid of it....
