    What about Taurus ammo?

Searched the forum for "taurus" but came up empty.

Found a box of 20 45 ACP HP cartridges for under $14.00. I usually stick with Corbon but might give these a try.

Are they good, bad or indifferent?

I've got a couple boxes left.

The Taurus rounds use a 185 Barnes copper HP--which ,iirc, is the same as what Cor-Bon uses in their DPX line.

Not certain if velocity is the same, but one would assume it'd be close.

Thought it was OK stuff. Carried it in my G36 for a while; it is quite impressive when you do the water-jug test; looks like a little boat propeller...

GOOD STUFF ! They are my EDC loadings. Not the same as the Cor-Bon. Cor-Bon is +p and the Taurus is standard velocity.

So in my short barrel 45 (Taurus PT 145) which would provide the optimal speed and expansion? I'm thinking CorBon, but I'm no ballistics expert...

Did not feed well in an old 1911, but, some 1911's do not like hp ammo.
    Work great in a revolver.

If you don't mind saying, where were you able to find the Taurus ammo as I also have tried to find some?

    Thanks, John

To give you an answer to your question. The Cor-Bon will probably give you higher velocity and about the SAME expansion as the Taurus ammo. Penetration of the Cor-Bon will likely be more due to higher velocity.
