i'm real interested in this thread and what info turns up here. i already use and trust GD's in my current pistols so i'm hoping this stuff really works as advertised. i plan on buying a subcompact conversion kit for my sig p250 with a 3.6" barrel so i'm hoping it really works in short barrel pistols and finding a reliable source for it.

My local gun shop carries and recommends it.

    That is my carry ammo.

I shot a box at the range when I first started using it and there were no problems with my M&P9c.

    I'd carry that without hesitation!

I happen to have HST's for my 9mm but I think they're about equal.

It's a good ammo. One we tested. Used to be my preferred carry ammo in 9mm, though I have now shifted over to CorBon (across the board). But you do your part, it will do its part.

Great ammo. I don't buy it because I stick with whatever premium ammo is on sale at the time. Last time around, it was Rangers for my XD9SC and Gold Dots for my G36 from ammotogo. If you can get it at a good price, then go for it.

    Corbon

I was sent a link by another poster that had interesting findings on ammo test results at verying barrell lengths. 9mm Corbon 90gr. +P Hollow Point Ammo was best in the 3.5 and 4 inch barrell lengths. Anyone use this?

I would take the Gold Dot 124 gr (or any other 124gr HP) over the Corbon. The Gold Dot is good stuff with good factory QC. I have used it, the Winchester Ranger and the Federal HST in the G26. All have performed very well.

    I

use it, too. Actually had some FTE with standard Speer GD rounds, tried the Short Barrel and have had no issues, good stuff.

Got lucky. After lots of internet searching, I found a site with Federal HST and was able to stock up. Also found another site with Speers Gold Dot for Short Barrells and stocked up on that as well.

I recently bought some from Natchez Shooters Supply. They may still have it in stock.

I bought some 124gr +p Gold Dots from DoubleTap in December at the height of the Obama ammunition hoarding - they had it in stock then.

Did you try the regular G.D. 124 +p? You can get 50 in the 50 round box for less $. I shoot the regular G.D. 124+p out of my G26 without any issues and with very good accuracy.
