At least 1,000 rds of 9mm (my preferred carry caliber), at least 500 rds of .22 and .223/5.56 and 200-500 rds of other calibers - 45acp, 380acp, 7.62x39, 38spl/357mag, etc - that I don't use as frequently. I also keep on hand several hundred rds each 12 & 20 gauge shotgun ammo in various shot sizes.

The shotgun loads I'm not overly worried about since it's available in bulk at practically any #-mart, sporting goods or stores with an outdoor/hunting department and the prices/availability seem pretty stable. I do plan to stock another case or two of shot shells in the near future as a hedge, however. As for pistol/rifle ammo, I keep a stock on hand "just in case". There is the definite possibility of sudden massive ammo increases, government passing new regs making ammo overly restrictive or a SHIF scenario can simply happen making regular sources of ammunition disappear or unavailable. I keep my minimum levels on hand as "money in the bank" and I replace the older ammo as it's used with newer supplies to maintain those minimums.

Nah, I just have a couple boxes for each caliber.

I'm sure the prices will drop when Obama signs an EO banning imports of ammunition....

I have a closet full of 9MM, .45, .44 Magnum, .22 LR, 30-30, 12Ga, and 20Ga. Don't know how much of each, but it is a lot. About 5 years ago a guy who loaded ammo and sold at gun shows told me it was all going up and going to become scarce so every opportunity I found cheap ammo prices I bought even if I didn't need it right away. Now I am glad I did.

Before Obama's term expires ammo may become the replacement for the gold standard. The way I see it is if I don't actually shoot the ammo that I have stockpiled perhaps I can use it as barter to pay bills etc. BTW I just bought another 1000 rounds yesterday.

Well over 10K now...mostly 9mm and .45...various other calibers, too!
I'll be able to take care of the home front.

    Stay armed...buy more ammo...stay safe!

I have more ammo than I have guns to shoot them...

I don't feel like going to the closet and counting, it's just way too damn much. But here are my estimates of what is in all my ammo boxes.

300 rounds of 12 gauge, about 25-50 or so is 00 Buck, the rest is birdshot
379 rounds of 7.62x39mm (the 380th met a tragic end)
200 or more rounds of .45 ACP
1000 or more rounds of .22 LR
200 or more rounds of .22 short
100 or more rounds of .38 Special, at least 50 of which are +P
    300 rounds of .25 ACP
100 rounds of .30 cal Carbine
    100 rounds of .30-06
    100 rounds of 9mm
    100 rounds of 380 ACP
    100 rounds of .30-30
    20 rounds of 7.62x54R
    20 rounds of .40 S&W
    50 rounds of .38 S&W
    50 rounds of .32 Auto
    50-100 rounds of .45-70

Probably some various other rifle calibers I can't recall...

    Yeah I think that's it.
