No matter how long the barrel is, I like the federal 125 Grain JHP's. The load is the 357B when ordering in bulk.
Remington makes a good 125 Grain SJHP and Black Hills makes a 125 Grain JHP too. Those three loads are what I put in all my .357 Magnums. I'm not referring to the "reduced" loads, but the older original loads for that caliber.
The question is, can you use it effectively or is it too much recoil for you? It took me years to get good enough with that load to feel confidant enough to carry it.
Try a box and run the 5x5x5x5 Test from the low ready.

If you can do that, no matter the gun/load, that's what you should carry.

125gr
Federal 357B if you can handle the recoil and blast, Remington 125gr Gold Saber if you don't like the blast of the Federal. The Ferderal is full power, the GS is a reduced load.

The best non-357 load is still the 38 Special +P 158 gr SWCHP
