Bullet Weight - Kahr PM40?
Just brought the PM40 out yesterday with some 155 gr. practice ammo and the corresponding 155 gr. Double Tap. Kinda ferocious, which is nice, but seemed to really "pound" the gun.
I would think that lighter is "better" in a short barrel, but I'm a bit concerned over it's long-term impact on the gun. Is there a chance that maybe 180 gr. would be a better choice or probably just stick with 155? There's always 165 gr. too.
Thanks.

Kahr
My personal favorites for the short Kahr .40 are the 155gr Gold Dot, 155gr Starfire (out of production, but I have lots), 155gr HST, 155gr Hydra Shok, and 135gr Quick Shok (I think out of production, but I have lots). If you don't like the light fast stuff try the CCI Gold Dot 180gr short barrel load. Stock #23974.
Actually, it's all so hard to get lately, just get whatever you can get and try some and stockpile the rest.

PM40
I just purchased a Kahr PM40 and took it to the range this morning. It is recommended to use 200 rds for break in,which I fed thru it this morning. I had 3 fail-to-ejects out of those 200 rounds. Not shabby. I intend to use Cor Bon 135 gr. self defense rounds. If prosecuted for using a self defense round, I will simply use the fact that a self defense round has less chance of passing through the intended target and into an innocent, unintended target. I use the same type round for my house defense 9mm. Smaller, enclosed area and precious occupants in the same area. I don't want a stray round bouncing around the room
