Buckshot question
I just received some 12ga. ammo and was wondering if it will cycle my Benelli Super90?
It is "Federal LE132 00", 9 pellet, 2 3/4 in Maximum, muzzle vel. 1145fps.
It is low brass ammo but does not say "reduced recoil" so I wasn't sure if it will reliably cyle a semi-auto shotgun. Any help out there?

Oh yeah, it'll cycle IF your Benelli will shoot BOTH 2 3/4" and 3" shells.
Double check your owners manual or Benelli's website.

Short answer -- maybe, maybe not.
Long answer -- I haven't tried any low brass in my S90 but I have in my Benelli SBE and had no problems as long as I did my part. Both are inertia operated guns and from the stats on your shell it would be at the fringe of operational requirements. The only problems I've ever had with my SBE were when I didn't have a solid shoulder placement on the stock. If the gun is allowed to "free recoil" any distance at all, the low velocity shells sometimes will cause a cycle failure.
For home defense with a recoil operated shotgun that may have to be fired from awkward positions, I would suggest staying with high velocity ammo such as the LE127 or even the old Remington Express.

I agree with "maybe".
My M1S90 cycles low recoil OO fine and also shoots low brass 1 1/8 loads fine. It's got about 1000 rounds through it though. My SBE also cycles 1 1/8 low brass loads,
I've seen others that won't cycle the low recoil / low brass stuff at all. The only way you're going to know is to try it.
IF it were me and my life might depend on it, I'd go with full power ammo. I've settled on the Hornady "red shell" TAP. It patterns better than the FED LE stuff in my gun.

Where did you get that ammo from? I've been looking for some of that. Please PM me.

Thanks for the helpfull replies. I ended up taking it out and testing it and it did cycle properly but I am going to follow the very sensible "maybe" advice and only use it in my Mossberg 500. Thanks guys.
Shotdown - I got it from ATG, and I think I got the last of it because I don't see it advertised anymore.
