I want good expansion and penetration in a more controllable package. My Kahr kicks HARD with the Double Tap loads. I like everything DT offers, but landing a second shot with the recoil is not looking good for me. I like to hit fast and hit hard, but I'm becoming more and more convinced that many times, the second hit is required.
Anything?

I can't find the data, but remembering from research a year ago, data showed the following loads consistently expanded as desired in gelatin tests from 3" 45acp.
1) Winchester Ranger T 230gr +p
2) Federal Tactical 230gr +P
3) Corbon DPX 160gr & 185gr+p
When I had my Colt Defender and Kimber UC, I used the Corbon DPX 160gr, which was specifically designed for the short barrel 45's.

Expansion looks good on the DPX. I'll fart around the links to see about penetration. a 160gr can't recoil much at standard pressure...
