Buying over the INTERNET is still possible but you will pay about $12.00 shipping for every 50 round box of 9mm luger.
I just bought 400 rounds of CCI Blazer Blast 115 grain 9mm luger target at Wal Mart for $8.97/ 50,
What did I miss? Why's 9mm so hard to get lately?
Is anyone worried that soon we wont be able to buy ammo period or is there just a shortage right now due to the spike in gun sales? Im deployed right now and dont want to return home and not be able to buy ammo. I havent stocked up yet and really need to. Got to be prepared for the years to come.
Any one try the gun shows. Last time I went there seemed to be a fair supply. At the time I wasn't looking for ammo. It might have been reloads
State side, the price continues to rise.
Also, some may be stockpiling and hoarding. There is rumor that with our current administration, ammo cost may be taxed to the point of a 500 % increase in cost. This is speculation for now but not unlikely.
My suggestion would be to ask friends/relatives if they would be willing to purchase ammo for you. The best deals will be at you local Wal-Mart's. Have them call in advance to see what is available.
Gander Mountain had 6 boxes of 9mm today. 50 round box JHP-59.99 per box !!! You read that right. I asked if this was correct, yep! .357 and .45 were half this price. They had a bunch of old M1's,899.99. Good?
If the M1 is in good shape (hard to find) then this is a great price.
Just got back from another Wal-Mart. Picked up a box of CCI FMJs in .40 and a box of Winchester Personal Protection in .38 +p. Got the last box of .38's and I saw no 9mm on the shelf. .223 was gone too.
Got 100 rounds for a little over $30.
Ive been noticing 7.62mm is getting scarce as well. At least online it is.
I've had 500 on BO from Cabelas since 11/30/08!
I've been trying to find 357 SIG in stores for a while now. I already ordered 100rds of Hornady 125gr JHP, but I think I'll have to get my target ammo online as well.
