Some of you guys that have had your LCP for a while, what do you find to be the best and most reliable defense ammo?
I cant find anything local to buy other than full metal jacket. So also, whats a good website to find anything you reccomend?
Thanks

Tons of information on this topic here.

Hornady Critical defense or Corbon DXP. Lots of testing done with the p3at which is the same.
Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it ......
Most of the guys I work with at the gunshop have P380s. All but one load Gold Saber. The one who doesn't loads FMJ, but he's a "deep penetration at all costs" kind of thinker and the rest of us aren't. I have a P32 with Cor Bon myself, but I've been doing this longer than them and I had it before the 380 was introduced.
And I think "P3AT" is dumb. If I went ot a .380 pocket gun I'd buy the Ruger just because "LCP" isn't as goofy sounding.
Ok its probably due to me being a little slow in the noggin....but until I read your post, I never gave the term P3AT a second thought. LOL After seeing both at the gun shop, I elected to go with Ruger because the craftsmanship just looked better. I just never knew that so many of these pocket guns were finnicky with what ammo they shoot without jamming. Glad I did some research before buying.
Looks like Ill go with Golden Saber because I have seen it talked good about in several places in reference to the LCP. Guess Ill order from Cabela's, nobody here has any in stock. Gonna get my LCP off layaway soon, gonna go ahead and get some ammo so it doesnt render itself useless for a few weeks after I get it.
Thanks for the info
I have a P3AT, it does great with Speer Gold Dots.
The major problem is that any brand is hard to get.

Winchester SXT
They feed without fail in my LCP.
I’m running Ranger T’s 380 in my P3AT
Their shelf life is about to expire (for me that's one year from date of purchase) and I am going to load next time with Buffalo Bore
.380 Auto +P Bullets for Pistols and Handguns
I'm carrying Corbon 90 gr in my LCP
I must be weird, I have a LCP and I run Golden Saber's and Hydro-shoks, Alternating in both Mags?
I have burned up about 90 rounds and only had one feed problem, that a slight tap on the mag bottom solved very quickly.
I even fired 7 rounds in about 4-5 seconds, no problem

Right now I cocktail load Gold Dots and FMJs.
I am very afraid of not getting enough penetration so I load in some FMJs. Probably not the best solution but what the hell are you going to do........
I will be looking at some of the Critical Defense .380 loads.
Why Ike, whatever do you mean? Maybe poker's just not your game Ike. I know! Let's have a spelling contest!
I use the Corbon 90 grain JHP in my LCP for now. I will use the Corbon DPX 80 grain all copper HP as soon as the .380 ammo situation improves.
God bless our troops!
I have a Dillon RL550 and all the components to start making cartridges, all I need is the darn dies
I have Win 231 powder, with 90gr FMJHP, with 3.2 grains of powder I should be able to get 1050 FPS?
anyone know the formula to figure out the energy? I would really like to achieve 260 ft lbs.
But until I actually get the dies and put some loads together and Chronograph them, I won't have a clue what they will run at..obviously![]()
