    Powderless ammo?...

Has any one here used the Aguila Super Colibri powderless .22 ammo?

From what I understand it propels the projectile with only the primer charge, thus having virtually no noise. I have about a 40 foot shot from the back door to where he enters under the shed. I just don't want to freak out the neighbors who live about 150 feet away in either direction.

Any first hand experience using this particular ammo? I want to whack a skunk who has been hiding out under my Mothers shed and stinking up the neighborhood every few nights when it get in scrapes with the local cats. He is a monster so I know that a couple of angry cats aren't going to get him to move out so I need to evict him the hard way.

Don't worry about using ammo to take care of this deed...just toss some 'moth balls' under the shed...problem solved. It works!

Ok, I'm going to try your less-lethal method. It's pouring rain here today so I will toss them under when it drys out a little. I'll let you know how it works out.

Okay, I've never heard about moth balls before. Why/how does that work?

I've used the Colibri rounds and they are quiet. They are only really good for close up shooting of stuff in my opinion. Only use them in manually operated guns. I use mine in a bolt action or revolver. They are quiet, but hard to hit anything with at any distance in my experience. The trajectory is like a rainbow.

A good pellet/air rifle will kill it fairly quickly. No one will hear it.
Personally, I think air rifles are a better choice for suburban pest control.

I once tried mothballs to get squirrels out of my attic. My house smelled like mothballs and I still had squirrels in the attic every night. I ended up shooting them all in the trees during the day when they were out feeding. That cured the problem. Hopefully mothballs will work better on skunks than squirrels.
When you've got 'em by the balls, their hearts & minds will follow. Semper Fi.

They still make a bang but I have shot them in my house and they are quieter than regular 22,they are also subsonic so no bullet crack

    Bad Idea.
You are just going to wound him with those CB longs.
They will not even penetrate 1/2" plywood at 40'.
They have absolutely no penetration or killing power.

I have never had to use the mothball trick, but I have heard many people stand by that method.

You could also use a live trap and transport it to a new location.
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

+1 for not shooting at it. Many a skunk have been dispatched only to ULTRA-stink up after being shot.
