    9 mm 124 grain +P leo ammo

A friend gave me a box of 9mm 124 grain +P FMJ the box is marked Law Enforcement Only. Can a non-leo use and carry this ammo? Any problems running +P thru my glock 26?

I would do a quick review of your states regs. I’m no longer an LEO and I run LEO stuff in my guns. But in Florida’s there is no law against it.

Glock is “ok” with +P, and even +P+ loads. However, in an independent test using 5000 rounds of +P+ they found that the G19 did miss-cycle from time to time, whereas the G17 never did.

I am currently running regular 124 Gr Hydro Shok in my G26.. I find the recoil better for multi taps.

The labeling on the box is marketing hype. It's a sales gimmick.

I think a better question might be: Why would you want to carry ball (FMJ) ammo at all, especially in a highly populated place like Long Island? The ammo won't hurt your gun at all, but a good JHP would be a much better choice for carry.

Don’t some city’s have ordnances against non LEO’s carrying hallow points.

Is New York one of them?

+P it is higher pressure load over regular ammo. Yes you can shoot from your Glock. I use +P ammo for SD only. For practice I would use regular ammo to lower stress on my guns.
What about 147 Load? This is what you can shoot for SD and for practice with the same recoil. My wife likes it.

New Jersey does. New York doesn't, though unless he is a city resident with a city issued license to carry, he will have a NY State carry license. A NY State carry license isn't valid in the city, so it would be a moot point anyway.

New York has its own AWB, post '94 11-shot or greater capacity mags are illegal, but not hollow point ammunition.
