Dude..where's my Ammo?
Okay,
I know there's a lot of concern about possible gun control in the future out there... And as such it's causing a lot of buying in the area of guns and especially in Ammo. I've heard stories of people going into wal*mart and buying everything on the shelf regardless of if they own the guns for that caliber or not.
My issue is this. I'm finding it impossible for me to even find ammo to target practice with. Every time I go to any store I can't even find my cal available anywhere. I'm not a man of means, but even if I was I certainly wouldn't buy out every single box available because I know there are others out there who may need a box or two.
Anyone else having my problem? Let me know

Nope, no one else is having trouble finding ammo.
Welcome to the forums. Try a Search for ammo or ammunition and read the threads. FWIW I see 5 topics on the first page without having to search.

I'm not saying that you're having problem, but luckily for you, you're in Texas...
Here's my problem...I'm in Massachusetts. And dispite the fact that the shot that was heard round' the world was fired here... our gun laws are a little more strict. You really cant have anything shipped here. We have a "List" of guns which aren't allowed in our state for various reasons. When the Assault Weapons ban ended, it didn't end in our state.

At the gunshop and range where I work, we have zero .380acp in stock and no source for more. We have less than 40 boxes of .38spl of any kind in the store and no source for more. We have enough 9mm and .45acp for a few more weeks, and enough .40 for a month or so. Our suppliers and wholesalers are out of stock and not taking backorders. The big ones like CTD, ATG, Ellett Bros, etc. are out of stock, and we are nowhere near their size. We have just started rationing ammo purchases and limiting range use ammo. It looks like there will be no need for a ban if we have a bunch of paperweights we can't use. I can see the new threads now:
"The all steel gun is heavier than the airweight, which is better to throw unloaded at a BG? Heavy slow steel gun or light fast aluminum one?"

I was at Gander and Scheels. Both had quite a bit of the UMC 250 count ammo for 45acp. Gander was at $119, and Scheels was at $99. I might have to drop by Scheels on payday...

I've been shopping for a 357/38 lever action rifle. Been to every gun store in my area and there are NONE. There's a beautiful PUMA 45 Colt lever action for sale at a real nice price, but, NO AMMO for it anywhere. This really SUCKS!!

I guess its just human nature to jump onto a . . . .
HELLO!! GUN FORUM . . . .
and ask about ammo shortage, as if its not old news, without even checking first?
