walmart ammo scam
I have been going to my walmart here in Traverse city for weeks now and no ammo ever.. I went yeterday @ 7am to find nothing. I asked the guy working in the ammo and he told me he had nothing but a box of 22. I went on my way walking around and found the wife and told her that there is nothing but 22. She told me her friend wanted 22 and told me to go back and get it, so i did. Walked around the isle to find the guy that worked there joking with two guys that must have been his friends and selling them over 1500 rounds of 9mm that he must have been holding for his friends. I was
I went to the manager and told them about it and the guy was fired. whos to say this is not going on at all walmarts?
34 hand guns and still going.....

The same exact thing happened around here a few weeks ago. One of the Sporting Goods section employees at my local Walmart was fired after it was discovered that he was calling his buddies every time an ammo shipment came in. The buddies would show up, clean the place out and give him a kickback.
I'm sure it's more widespread than we think.

You just got a tiny taste of "it's every man for himself" which always tends to "kick in" when some folks smell a crisis that warrants being taken advantage of.
Expect things like that to increase as situations get worse.
You saw to it that it backfired on him though. Good job.

I have to say this, I would have been calling for the Manager without a phone. Needless to say I dont like being lied to, let alone shorted by some backroom scam.
I know not what this "overkill" means.

Funny that you mentioned this...just went by Wally World for something else...stopped by and chatted with the on-duty ammo area guy. Told me they had 2 crates of 9MM...some guy came in early this morning and bought them all.

Now check again next week to insure the employee really is term'ed.

Is it really a punishment to be fired from Wally World?

I certainly hope that this does NOT become a national problem with the "buddy-buddy" system. If I hear that a WM employee is holding ammo for a friend while the rest of us go without I will be one very unhappy camper.
This would be equally offensive if the bad employees are overlooking the box limit per day policy as well. I do NOT want to hear that the majority of the public must suffer while a few profit from having a friend "in the know."

What they are doing is reselling the ammo at a higher price...

Normally I'd agree that losing your job at WW is not a big punishment.
However,in today's economy,I may well be.
Makes me feel better that this guy got what he deserved.
