Before I go out and buy another safe to put my ammo in so I will have more room in safe #1, I need some advice. Instead of buying a small fire resistant safe, am I just as well off, if not safer, keeping the ammo in a locking chest such as a Jobsite or Knaak chest that would provide room for expansion if a fire ever did occur?

Just hit up an army surplus store for some 50 cal ammo boxes. I've got one for 45 ACP, one for 357 SIG, one for 9 mm..................... You get the idea.

I use metal ammo boxes...no need to lock it...just keep your "tools" locked up.
