price of ammo is really getting expensive

I just went into the website for ATG and they advertised WWB 100 pack 9mm, 115gr FMJ for $59.95. I bought the same ammo at Wal-Mart 2 weeks ago for $20.00, what is going on with the ammo situation? First we have a shortage now we have extremely high prices to go along with it. Good thing I bought enought a few years ago to last awhile, but eventually I will have to buy more. Is anyone else concerned that we might be priced out of our right to own guns and defend ouselves or to enjoy our hobby? I can't shoot if I can't afford the ammo.

Walmart is the only place that I know of that's not raised ammo price.
you just have to check store daily for ammo
you are shooting 9mm, that's the most common and cost effective caliber

Well places like ATG can only get so much ammo Im guessing. Since they have a limited amount to sell, they have to raise the prices in order to maintain the income they are used to.

ATG used to have good prices, a wide selection, and prompt shipping. With that price you quoted it looks like I won't be giving them my business anymore.

Even if the ammo bubble bursts tomorrow and they go back to more reasonable prices, I'll remember their gouging and shop elsewhere.

See my post above. They are doing what they have to do to make a living.

I suspect that ATG is a very small operation. Other small operations are doing the same and I can understand this. I do not condone companies like CTD doing it though. Stop spending the money on TV ads and pass the savings on to the consumer.

Depends on where you buy, and how anxious you are. I got my quota (6 boxes) from Wal Mart yesterday.......9mm Blazer Brass 50ct boxes still for $8.97.

As long as people who are willing to pay these high prices continue to do so and continue to buy up every round in sight, it will not get any better.

I've found that the gun shops I frequent have been fair with me.
I started by ammo build up almost 15 months ago...glad I did.

I've seen some crazy prices around and feel sorry for those just getting into shooting...or trying to stock up now.

I've ordered from ATG a few times. After the price raise, I've been buying from TDS.

That is just repugnant and offensive. Nearly $40 for crap ammo. What a rip-off.

Just a few months ago I paid less than half of that price for premium .357 magnum hunting loads. (Federal Fusion) No wonder I'm boycotting ammo.

TDS is also making things difficult by limiting the popular JHP's to one box per order. Shipping & handling for one 50ct. box of GD 9mm is $11.

Yeah, I had ordered a box of GDs in .357 SIG. Still beats ATG since they wanted $49 before shipping. Talk about nuts! It was about $15 cheaper through TDS with shipping. I do wish I could have picked up a few at the same time though.
