speer gold dot vs short barrel

Just wondering if anyone has compared the two rounds out of the same gun something around a 3" barrel like my XDSC. I am interested in how the two rounds performaned in the 124+P round. Also how did it do compared to the HST 124+P in the same gun. If you have test with 147/147+P also post or post link.

Cant help you with the 9mm stuff, but there was very little difference in the 2 in my .2" .38sp. Actually, there was more shot to shot variation than short barrel to regular Gold Dot +P

Haven't done a comparison, but as soon as I could get my hands on some, I began carrying Speer Gold Dot, Short Barrel ammo about a year ago in both .357 mag and .38 spl +P. Both loads come in 135 gr. bullet weight. Speer engineered the bullets to penetrate and expand as if the ammo had been fired from a longer barrel.

I put them in my back-up S&W 642 J-frame, and Taurus 2" 617, .357 mag, seven shooter.
