The walmarts in my town have been receiving and are able to keep some on the shelves now, but they're still nowhere near where they were at pre-election.

While the 9mm round is the most popular, I am finding a lot of people looking for .380.

Easy there fella, this isn't something I'm saying is currently happening EVERYWHERE however I'm reading reports of people in other parts of the country that are actually seeing the same thing that I'm seeing here. It will take a little time for people to see it everywhere.

I would venture to say that some places will continue to see shortages simply because of a few greedy individuals that have the money to buy Walmart out as soon as they find it on the shelves in order to sell it for double or even triple what they paid. All I'm saying is if customers will hold out a little longer, they will easily be able to get the ammo because it will not pay for the hoarders to hoard anymore.

I disagree with this statement. The "folks" at Walmart will see the end of the shortage locally before the corporate people have a clue simply because they are right there in the store. The "folks" I'm referring to see how much ammo is coming in and how much is going out in real-time. The corporate will see the national trends first but there will still be at least a month lag time for reporting.

I understand that some people will not like these reports and will be prone to personal panty wadding syndrome when they see the positive reports posted but I expect that those people will mostly be the fear mongers and ammo hoarders that are profiting from the historical ammo shortage that was.

After reading this thread this morning, I decided to take a drive to the local Walmart and see if they had any ammo. They did--2, like two only, boxes of Winchester white box .45ACP. However, they wanted $28+change per box (50 round boxes)! I respectfully said no thanks! On 5/15 I bought the one box of Winchester white box .45ACP they had just received in stock for $12.47 (along with 4 boxes of .40S&W for the same price). That is more than a 225% price increase in 2 weeks. After I got back home, it dawned on me that I should have asked her to scan the price to double check it. I am hoping that they just put it on the wrong shelf in the wrong spot. I'll have to check back in a day or two.

I will have to try and make the rounds tonight and see how things are here.

JDE that $28 I think is what they list the 100 round pack for. I would guess wrong shelf.

Charlotte, Concord, and Lincolnton NC Wallys are still bare as well! :(

Hey, let me ask you guy, you would know -- for 9mm just plain old 115 gr FMJ target rounds, is $15 for a box of 50 ($.30 per round) a pretty good price? I just found 1000 rounds NOT AT WW and I'm thinking I should jump on it. Yes? No?
