wow, you're one of the few granted a carry permit in that commie state eh?

yeah, as stated... ball ammo is basically you're option there.

Federal made a expanding full metal jacket EFMJ round in the past; I don't know if it's still available, but I'd try to get it.

It's a full metal jacket, but under the solid nose is a polymer that deforms on impact. I saw it in the book Stopping Power.

EFMJ is not made in 357SIG. Basically, if you can't use JHP's, then you have FMJ or frangible ammo to choose from. I'd go with the semi-wadcutter FMJ ammo, if I couldn't use JHP.

Corbon makes a Pow'RBall in 357sig 100gr. Sort of like EFMJ with a blue plastic ball in front. It is not a hollow point, but not really FMJ either. I have no idea if it is NJ legal.

The relevant statute in the New Jersey Statutes Annotated is N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3(f). There appear to be two perspectives: (1) that Pow'RBall is an expanding non-HP bullet (so not prohibited), and (2) that hollow-point in the Statutes means any expanding bullet (so prohibited).

Bottom line: Corbon Pow'RBall gets good reviews, but may or may not be prohibited, and you would need to protect yourself with a definitive answer from an authority before carrying it.
