    7.62x25 Hollow points?

I saw some Wolf Brand 7.62x25 85 gr hollow points. They're rated at 1591 FPS. At that velocity would a hollow point make any difference at all compared to FMJ? Would it even have time to expand?

That is faster then most 9mm loads, so I think you may get some expansion, but it also depends on how the bullet is constructed.

Sure it could. Like the 110gr 357s do. It may, however, clog up or come apart just as well.

Some hollow points are not going to expand, because they are of poor design, but most will do something. At 1500, even a PSP round mushrooms out some. A JHP will open up, and likely frang a bit. I don't see it turning to powder like some of the smokin' hot rifle rounds, but I bet it opens up a little, unless it is just a joke of a JHP design. Another "unless" would be if that bullet was originally designed for a mich higher speed round, and was downgraded to the x25. If it was designed to function at 2200fps, and not flies at 1500 kinda' thing...

High speed JHPs with decent cavity design tend to expand violently.

Most of my prior experience shooting the Tokarev is that just about anything that comes out of it would probably be enough to stop an attack, 1-2 shots. The steel core surplus rounds will penetrate steel(Not want you want in a CCW obviously, but a great target round). I read somewhere that the JHPs (not sure on the grain weight) turned most "fleshy" targets into ground chuck.
