Good fmj .45?
Hi All,
I hope this is in the right section. I spend a lot of time in the woods and usually have my .45 on my hip. While I know a good heavy caliber revolver with FMJ rounds would be best for bear or other wild animal the .45 is all I have.
Does anyone know where I can get GOOD reliable all steel or at least quality FMJ rounds that I can use instead of just the standard JHP rounds I carry for self-defense. I want something that is more reliable than the regular FMJ that we all buy for the range, and want something with the most penetration for larger animals.
If i'm wrong on all of this please let me know what would be best for larger animals.

Speer Lawman.
IIRC, you can get +P FMJ from them.

I carry a 1911 with Speer 230 grain FMJ while hunting too. I would rather a .41 Magnum, but cannot afford another pistol.

I may be wrong, but I don't think an "all steel" pistol bullet exists. It would rather quickly destroy your barrel.

I sell all types of .45 Auto FMJ usually recommended for your .45. and JPH +P.
.45 ACP is not too difficult to find. I have a few cases. I sell via INTERNET but to be completely honest with you I would call your local Wal-mart and find out what they have. Ask if they have any .45 and when the truck will be in.If they say it will be on the next truck, find out when and then go there and then wait. It could be hours or you might get lucky. It goes fast so you must be first in line. Normally they stock Winchester .45 Auto in 100 round value packs. You are limited to six items so buy what you can, when you can. If you want to buy from me, send me a pm.

Seriously though, whichever FMJ is most reliable in YOUR gun is best.
