I have a new to me Kimber Pro Raptor II. Being commander size, what JHP do you recommend I use for my carry ammo that will have good expansion with the 4 inch barrel velocity?
I've used Speer Gold Dots in 9mm in my Glocks. Would that be a good choice in .45ACP in my Pro Raptor?

Outstanding, it's my favorite concealed carry pistol. After putting over 1100 rounds of mostly hardball with (several failures) the tolerances loosened up and it now operates flawlessly. I started out with 230grn Golden Sabre but have moved on to 230grn HST with nary a hiccup. Good luck and remember to keep it lubed.

I use Winchester Ranger T series. Federal HST is a close 2nd. I am a fan of the Barnes X bullet ( Corbon DPX, Taurus HEX, etc.) but my 4" Kimber had problems feeding it. A friend of mine has a 4" model also and his didn't like them either. I have shot Ranger T, HST, regular CorBon, Hornady TAP, and Golden Sabres in my 4" Kimber and all of them were perfect.

In my shorter barreled .45's (Glock 30 and 36), I've found the 200gr +P Gold Dots to be excellent performers as far as accuracy and control.

Whatever ammo you can find that will work reliably in a Kimber....GOOD LUCK! You will need it.
