Which semi-auto caliber do you like best?

Just curious what types of semi-auto pistol ammo are most popular. If you vote on the poll please also post why you like the ammo type you voted for. If I missed an ammo types vote for other and post which type you like best.

I personally like .40 S&W because it packs quite a punch and it out penitrates .45 cal. rounds. Also it's not insanely expensive like 10mm rounds.

40S&W would have to be my favorite. Matter of fact, I think it's the most accurate handgun cartridge for me. All that being said, I can't even think of shooting 40S&W out of anything but a Glock pistol. The cartridge and the pistols go so well together.

My semi autos are .40 or .45 I carry them both. Since I could only vote for one, I voted for .45 acp. I'm just an old 1911 guy at heart.

I like ANY caliber that starts with a "4" and ends with a "5'.
    (I do like 9mm, too!)

Ram... the S&W 40 M&P will give any glock a run for its money.

I like .45 since it is one of the largest common rounds, easy to get and trained on in the military, but I voted for the 10mm since I like having all of the extra power in a similar size round. I would rather not have to worry about a thick jacket, or a sternum being able to redirect a well placed shot harmlessly in a different direction.

I would definitely say .40, to me it is the happy medium between the 9 mm and the .45!

I voted for the .40 cal because I own one. However, I do hope to purchase a .45 in the future and this may change my mind.

.40 cal for me. Good power, fair price, readly available and fun to shoot. Pretty darn accurate too.
