It's not always the prices but the fact that even at these prices it's hard to find what you want.

I'd say there were 4 tables at each show of guys selling personally reloaded ammo. It was cheaper that factory ammo YMMV but I won't touch the stuff.

Im as much of a capitalist as the next guy, maybe more. But 50-100% profit margins when you have no skin in the game (other than buying Walmart ammo out the back door by paying off employees) is just ripping people off, pure and simple. These bloodsuckers are also selling to new shooters who don't know their prices are unreasonable. I don't want the government involved (any more than it already is), but there is something to be said for treating your fellow man in a fair and just manner.

Unless I am mistaken, it is illegal to publicly sell personally produced ammo without the proper federal ammo manufacturer's license.

    You're right, I wouldn't touch the stuff.

That's because people go to the gun shows assuming it's a good deal. Or just not knowing what prices were not too long ago.

I think the bad economy has a lot to do w/it. People are looking out for number one. Gun shows I've been too are becoming more and more overpriced.
