Come on folks. I can't believe that this thread is so tame. I've seen these type posts just explode before. What's different about this one? Where are all the rabid believers in their beloved caliber?

My pal is a rertired bullistics expert from the State Police. He and I were .45 guys.
He swithced to 9mm with HP's and tells me the new 9mm HP stuff is the most deadly stuff you can use on humans.
The body counts seems to prove him correct.
Dead is dead.
I now carry my 9mm with Speer Gold Dot 147 gr +P HP and don't worry. I've got 18 chances of being a dead eye shot. A hit any where on a human causes a leak. Leaks sink ships and bleed out animals.
Even our troops are doing well with the 9mm and it is BALL AMMO, the worst load for the 9mm, and it still does the job.
All I know is anything shot with a 9mm HP needs a doctor or undertaker.
I can catch 9mm's in my teeth. 45's I can swat away like flies.

My buddy carries a 9mm Glock and he shot my .45 XD. He said it didn't feel like much more recoil than his 9mm.
Plenty of guys can shoot .45 and handle the recoil. If you can't, by all means, get a 9mm...![]()

I think it was so tame because 10th came with facts not emotion. Eveyone has their weapon & caliber of choice......it will be like getting a chevy man to buy a ford, or a glock man to buy a 1911 ( may not be a good comparison on here!!) but you get the idea.
I'm not gonna try to derail this train, but I would love to see a new thread that compared the 5.7 to the standard SD rounds. I was looking at getting one, but there were other issues. So, if anyone sees one, would you post please & thank you?!

Ever wonder why massacres never happen at a gun range??
You might find me dead in a ditch one day, but I'll be in a pile of brass. - Stolen from Zebra64

God bless our troops!

Yeah, the whole 9mm vs .45 thing has all been said and done already...and is complettely moot, what with 10mm crushin' 'em both, and all.
I'll duck now.![]()

Someone posted that any caliber is better than throwing rocks. True unless your name is Goliath.I'll be quiet now.

Having been in the nonenvieable position of doing harm with both calibers was this. They both kill. With the 9mm it took3 shots all in a vital area.
The 45 my first 2 were not in a vital area but He went arse or teakettle to speak of and was unable to rrespond for a few seconds when I/we regrouped and secured him.
My observation was first shot in the left shoulder spun him around, at least once. second shot was in the leftleg just above the knee which literally knocked his left leg behind him and he went face down.
Yes I have trouble sleeping while remembering because he was/is somebody's son.
But I love my 45 acp.
Peaceful
You mean the .45 didn't knock him off his feet with the first shot?
I don't want to get shot with either. I have both, but carry a 9mm most of the time.
To the OP do you have a link to the documentation your getting your data from?
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.
