About LinkBackshello I bought this snap cap Cabela's -- Snap Caps

hello I bought this snap cap Cabela's -- Snap Caps
and it says its good for thousands of dry firings but the center of the cap where the hammer falls is worn out after 5 firings. Is that normal?

What do you mean by worn out? As long as the firing pin hasn't broken through and left a HOLE they are good. You can also use previously fired shell casings as snap caps.Originally Posted by jimtem

That is normal.
Snap cap is going to slow the firing pin down. Denting in the cap part is good cause it won't put so much stress on the tip of the firing pin.
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

The rounded dent is normal, just like after you fire a live round and it dents the primer basically. They are good for thousands of dry fires, think YEARS not months.
