Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

I have a few snubs that I use, mostly in the gun safes for HD purposes. My SP101 is a .38spl, and I keep 110gr +P+ JHP in it. In the snubs that I have that I use +P in, I have old school 125gr +P Nyclads in the guns, and 125gr Gold Saber +P for the speedloaders. The Nyclads get beat up if they get carried in the speedloaders and the Gold Saber is rounded and with a hard jacket and small JHP. Perfect for fast loading from a speedloader. If I had a .357 snub, I'd probably use all Gold Saber .357. It's pretty mild for a 125gr .357 so it's easy to shoot, and it's just as easy to load as the .38s from speedloaders, speed strips, tuff strips, or whatever.

Colt Detective Special .38 SPL with 200g LSWC-K @ 720fps; speedloader with 200g LRN (blunt--358430) at same vel, easy reload profile.

Obviously, I'm a fan of penetration & standard pressure :-)

Carried Speer Gold Dot .38SPL+P in my S&W Model 60 as a BUG when I was a cop by department mandate. Have never really seen a reason to use anything else.

Then here comes all this talk of Buffalo Bore, and then my uncle (engineer at Hornady) takes me for a tour of the plant and shows off their Critical Defense. Decisions, decisions...

In my snub, I alternate between the Gold Dot short barrel and Federal personal defense loads in warm weather. In cooler weather when clothing is heavier (even out here in AZ) I tend to carry the "FBI" load, 158 gr LSWCHP. All in +P flavor.

Thumbs up Re: what SD round are you carrying in your snubbie?

Seems to be a common theme, but I carry a S&W 640 and have it stoked with Gold Dot Short Barrel 135 gr. in 357 magnum, with two speed strips of the same
