115 or 124 , NOT +p is enough for me. Kel-Tec is a handful with larger.

When I carry the 9mm it is loaded with the Fed Hyda-Shocks. Never had a reason to change. I do prefer the DPX bullets in the .45 ACP tho.

I carry Hornaday Critical Defense in my Glock 17. I wouldn't say 9mm ammo is "plentiful" in Central Arkansas, but has been more available over the past few months in both self defense loads and range ammo.

Everything I've read says to avoid anything heavier than 124 gr for 9mm defensive ammo. For that reason, I avoid the 147 gr JHP.

I purchased some Winchester Ranger Bonded 147gr RA9B. I couldn't find them on Winchester's website except for it on the ballistic comparison page. I have read that they are the same as Supreme Elite PDX1 (except they come in a box of 50 not 20 and marked law enforcememnt). Although I wanted something in 124gr, I think these are supposed to be pretty good.

Also doesn't walmart sell some winchester hollow points? Are they the same as what I purchased?
As a matter of fact, they are fresh out in Jackson, Mo as of 11am Friday...
147 gr JHP. Looks just like the "white box". No mention of "ranger bonded" or "RA9B"
With those and 5 boxes of Winchester Super-X .22wmr at the Cape WM, I felt like a kid at christmas.
Been looking for .22wmr's under $10/box ever since christmas.

I don't... But I also don't have the time or inclination to run balistics tests so I figure the 124 gr will work just fine... :)

I'm sure 124gr will work "just fine". But you don't have to run ballistic tests to understand basic physics. A 147gr projectile will penetrate deeper than a 124gr regardless of the slightly lower muzzle velocity. As long as you can get reliable expansion, which you will with any premium 147gr jhp, stick with the heavier round.

I regress. 124 is fine. Newer 147 designs are fine. What your pistola eats reliably is more that ideal.
