I've got numerous spots here to buy ammo, "but" .38 special is non-existent. All other calibers are available in SD & range. I've been to ammoman & MidwayUSA, not much in range available. I have a CCW2 course in a month, and wondering if I will have enough revolver ammo (course requires 500 semi-auto, 500 revolver). Just seems like a round that would be more readily available.

I take it you just need "range" ammo and not SD ammo?
Try Cabelas for "range" ammo.

Lots of ammo listed above. What the heck is this CCW2 that you are talking about and what is the need for such large amounts of ammo. Who could shoot that much ammo in a day, that is 1000 rounds of center fire ammo, which at today's prices would be around $ 250-$300 worth of ammo, even figuring for range/target ammo. I know that when I took my CCW there was not the need for that kind of ammo... and to be honest, except for my .38spl I used .22s for my auto pistol.

Buy it by the half case or case on GunBroker.com. That goes for pretty much any caliber.

Haven't had a problem finding it out here. Plenty of 130 gr WWB FMJ at the local Sports Authority, and a good amount of Remington GS +p loads at the real gun stores...

CCW2 is a class focusing on combat handgunnery. Shooting on the move, from a car, on your back, etc. It's a two day class. Thanks for the leads guys!

About the only place I can find .38SPL is my local gun shop, same goes for .357 and .44.
I'm guessing that ammo for semi-autos is stocked more, due to demand.
