Handgun Combatives 2nd Edition

I just received my copy of Dave Spaulding's new book, or second edition of an older book if you will, and find it to be well written, easy to read, and very informative. This is one book that should go in your library next to Mas', "In The Gravest Extreme".

Many will find this book to be a confirmation of things they already know if they are well read in self defense, but with some twist. Dave Spaulding has taken the time to break things down to it's most simple element, and has the ability to make complex subjects easy to understand.

There are many good teachers out there, and much published work. What seperates the good from the great is the timelessness. I think this book is a contender to go on my timeless shelf, right next to Street Survival and In The Gravest Extreme.

I have the 2003 Handgun Combatives. I rate it and Spaulding highly. Only way I would sell it is to get the latest, 2nd edition.

The second edition is an improvement, IMHO.
The first edition is a good building block, but the second takes it a step further.

I have always liked Spauldings style, and have followed his writings since be began. Thanks for the heads up, as I will get his book.

Thanks for sharing. I will order it.

I heard Mr. Spaulding himself say do NOT get the old version. He said he felt it had some shortcomings that were fixed in the new version.
