What are the benifits of becoming an armorer (other than the obvious knowledge) how much does it cost ect.. i googled couldnt find much.

The only downside is the damn things very seldom require fixing. You kind of start feeling like the Maytag appliance repairman in the commercials.
The upside is you can do all mods yourself, and if the world comes to an end, fix it yourself.
But if mine broke, I would think the world had ended, lol.
Ignorance is a long way from stupid, but left unchecked, can get there real fast.
I was and am in LE. My local FOP lodge had a class that they paid for us members. It was about $80 bucks at the time. But I think Retsupt is right Think you have to join GSSF as a civilian. It is very interesteing and like Glockman said...you can do all the mods you want on your own pretty much.

But i do know how to completly take apart and put together a glock not really complicated. I think i will join GSSF it had good benifits and take the class if for nothing else just more knowledge and history of it all.
