Need advice on books
I'm relatively new to carrying and have schedule some more advanced training (through Suarez international). In the mean time I'd like to find some great books that deal with the actual mechanics of combat shooting, mindset of personal protection. I have ordered Ayoobs gun digest of concealed carry. Any other recommendations?? Thanks in advance

Ayoob's "In The Gravest Extreme" is still considered the 'bible'.

Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Ayoob's "In the Gravest Extreme" is a MUST read for anyone new to concealed carry.

I've noticed that the majority of Ayoob's book were written in the 80's or earlier (he seems to have started writting books again in recent years). Is the information in his early books still relevant?

Absolutely. Some of the equipment has changed, but tactics, procedures, and concepts such as Ability-Opportunity-Jeopardy have not. The intelligent and aware reader should be able to tell which information is dated (although not necessarily irrelevant).

In addition to the great resources mentioned, check out Concealed Carry 101. It gives a pretty thorough introduction to carrying concealed.
