[U]The Truth About Self-Protection[U] by Massad Ayoob. Very comprehensive. His In the Gravest Extreme would be a close second. By the way, self defense is gender neutral but sometimes women have more credibility with other women.

Absolutely! That is why I highly recommend them. There is generally too much emphisis on hardware and not enough emphisis on software, i.e., mindset and behaviors.

Cornered Cat also has a website Cornered Cat and a Facebook page. I have really enjoyed reading the posts on the facebook page. Plus it is a great way to see more input from women.
