but it seems like a CD Rom came with an issue of Concealed Carry Magazine...during the last year?
Perhaps it was just an intro...

I called on the Defensive Handgun dvd a few days ago and the lady at Thunder Ranch said they wouldn't be ready to ship for a few more weeks. She said they were taking pre-orders, though.
Interesting maybe ill order up before to long
I've seen the Gunsite DVD. It gives a very good overall for their programs. I did one day at Gunsite last spring before I was too sick with the flu to continue. Despite how I felt, it was exactly how they portrayed it on the DVD. Excellent instruction.... just as everyone reports. Its more of a promo CD though - nothing prepatory.

So has anyone got their hands on any of these Thunder Ranch dvds? They look nice to me and I have heard good things about the place.
not yet maybe next year
I rec'd the Thunder Ranch Defensive Handgun DVD set for Christmas.
I have watched it twice already!
The "lecture" DVD was concise and to the point regarding the mindset of carrying a handgun for personal protection. I like Clint's easy style and, while I really did not learn anything really new to me, it did serve as a good refresher.
The "range" DVD was very well done, and though he covered some range safety items up front (I thought that was curious for a training dvd, but hey, range safety is important and it is conceivable that people not familiar with shooting may be watching this in hopes of gaining proficiency), he spent a good amount of time of some specific drills, how to move (backward, laterally), very close quarters drills, and he covered stoppages very well.
I would recommend this set to anyone...as a matter of fact, I will probably spring for the Defensive Tactics and possibly the Urban Rifle (just for kicks) in the next couple weeks.
The sad thing is that now I really want to go to Thunder Ranch and train with Clint and his staff...that's gonna cost some $$$!
sounds like its worth it i will order a set soon myself
I bought the Thunder Ranch Defensive Handgun DVD as a birthday present for my brother and "happened" to order an extra copy for myself.
The first DVD is "lecture" and the second is "range". While some of the content may be too basic for more experienced shooter, he follows a logical progression to build on the basics, with reminders to keep it simple.
As a fairly new shooter, I found it very helpful and look forward to putting the range drills into practice. I had seen Clint Smith on Personal Defense TV, so I was not surprised. The best thing about it is that the man doesn't just know his subject, he can TEACH. Now I need to save my $$ for a trip to Oregon.
The fact that you're paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't out to get you.
Yeah, by all means, you want to go to Thunder Ranch. Clint's the best IMHO.
